Is it possible to get sunburned from sunshine behind clear glass?

We have had a clear glasscover put over our patio. Can I get sunburned and do the suns UVRays get through?I do use protective sun cover, but would like to know if the rays can get through glass. Is it possible to get sunburned from sunshine behind clear glass?
K, first of all, when you get a sunburn, what is it that burns you: the visible light or the UV? It's the UV. This is how you can still get a pretty bad sunburn on a cloudy day (since the moistness of the clouds not always filters out most of the UV rays).

UV rays can totally get through glass, unless the glass is UV protected. You'd have to check the glass for its manufacturer, model number, then call them and ask. Chances are not high that the glass is UV proof (why should it be?). In newer cars, the glass is normally UV proof, however, since you spend so much time inside your car on hot summer days.

So check with the manufacturer, check for any ';UV %'; prints, and then use sunblock accordingly. Is it possible to get sunburned from sunshine behind clear glass?
yep can deff get through glass- unless its special stuff thats UV protected or whatever. Just think about how you can burn stuff through a magnifying glasss- its the same.
Yes, they definetly can get through the glass. i would sudjest putting sun screen on every time you are going to be on your patio for a long period of time
yes..if not more so

the glass could reflect the rays back on to you twice as concentrated..deffo put sun cream on everytime you do that..
I don't think UV goes throught modern glass. I always thought its UV filtered of just doesnt get through anyway.
yes, even think glass like a car window.
