Switching between Clear and Opaque Glass?

In Disneyland they have a ride called Star Tours, When you stand in line there is a room with a robot. The glass window surrounding the room turns from clear to opaque every 3 seconds. How does this work?Switching between Clear and Opaque Glass?
Probably like the display in a liquid crystal watch. Each digit segment contains a thin layer of cholesterol molecules.

When a voltage is placed across the segment ends, the molecules twist and block visible light (like closing a set of window blinds). When the voltage turns off, the molecules twist back and allow light to pass through.Switching between Clear and Opaque Glass?
There are glass panels available that change from clear to opaque by applying a voltage. The same materials are used as are used in LCD displays, crystals that change orientation with voltage applied.
Liquid crystals. You can buy it for privacy. Costs a small fortune. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smart_glass
there like tv's but the only channels you get are clear and opaque
