Thick glass like look for acrylic painting, almost like a clear honey look, what is it?

I saw a painting with a thick honey like glass coat over it, I would like to know if anyone know what it is called and where I can get some for my acrylic painting.Thick glass like look for acrylic painting, almost like a clear honey look, what is it?
Michael's right. Although, it's more likely to be called ';medium.'; Medium can be mixed in with the paints to make them spread more easily and dry faster. Or it can be applied after the painting is complete to give it a coating. The kind of coating you are describing is done with a gloss medium, as opposed to a matte medium which would be flat. And I agree that if it has a thick honey-like glassy feel, that it is probably several layers of a gloss medium. So, in the store, you want to look for Acrylic Medium in gloss.

A ';glaze'; usually has some paint in it -- it is paint thinned with medium to create a thin translucent layer of color. A different process from what you're describing.Thick glass like look for acrylic painting, almost like a clear honey look, what is it?
Art supply store. It is a 'glaze' that helps dry the paint and protect it. Several brands available. If it was that noticable, chances are, the artist applied several coats.
