Why is it when you look at a glass of water it is clear but when you look at the ocean it is blue?

Why is the ocean blue. Why is it when you look at a glass of water it is clear but when you look at the ocean it is blue?
As you may or may not know, color is the light wavelength(color) that reflects back at you. For water it absorbs all the reds first and blues last. but very slowly because it is a liquid. In the ocean there is a lot of water so basically more things for the light to reflect back so it looks blue if there is enough of it. For things like a cup of water there is not enough stuff to reflect a visible amount back. Hope it helps. Why is it when you look at a glass of water it is clear but when you look at the ocean it is blue?
Ok, really there is a simpler way of looking about that question. The ocean is blue because the sky is blue, and the ocean reflects it. A glass of water is a glass of water, which means it doesnt reflect anything, due to its size.

also because of the fact that there is much more water in the ocean than a glass of water. If you had a REALLY big glass of water, it would look blue as well.
It is because the ocean's waters reflect the color of the sky. On a gray day the ocean will look gray.
