Suppose you have a balanced aquarium sealed with a clear glass top...?

Can life continue in the aquarium indefinitely as long as the sun shines regularly on it? Why or why not?Suppose you have a balanced aquarium sealed with a clear glass top...?
There is oxygen in water geniusSuppose you have a balanced aquarium sealed with a clear glass top...?
I would say that indefinitely is a stretch as complex compounds form in the aquarium over time that cannot be broken apart by the conditions in the aquarium. That said there are instances of simple ecosystems enclosed in glass spheres that last for years but they make no claims that they can last forever. For a container that only gets light from the sun it needs enough air space for oxygen to be stored for the night, as no oxygen is produced without light, and if the oxygen runs out the ecosystem will fail. If u wish to attempt a sealed ecosystem i would recommend 24hour fluorescent lighting and a steady temperature. Only algae eating life should be used, small shrimp love the hair algae that will grow in a small well lit container. While i have never actually sealed any of my aquariums all of them are well planted balanced ecosystems that require minimal maintenance.
