We had a wood burner installed a few days ago andi have just lit it to try it, the glass has gone quite black. I was under the impression that it would stay clear. I am burner 2 year old ash logs. What am i doing wrong.
From what i can make out i am following the manufacturers instructionsHow clear is the glass supoosed to stay on a wood burner?
Sounds like you may be choking it down too quickly, and the window is sooting up.
Try letting fire get a good start before you dampen it.
I clean out ash and clean window once a week with mine. Window will not stay clear long, a few days, but flame should be visible with weekly cleaning. How clear is the glass supoosed to stay on a wood burner?
